Supporting Terri in to work with Primark

Updated: Apr 17, 2020

Terri joined our Loaf Academy in Omagh last year and threw herself into both the formal learning sessions and her two shifts per week in our café at the Ulster American Folk Park. Terri was keen to get a paid job so started working with Brid, our Employment Officer, on her CV and interview skills. This soon paid off with an interview at Primark. Brid supported Terri in preparing for the interview which included role playing, practising questions, what to wear and also went along with Terri on the day. Terri was calm, collected and answered all the questions confidently with her bubbly personality shining through.

Initially employed on a temporary contract in the run up to the busy Christmas period, Terri’s excellent rapport with customers soon saw her offered a permanent, 20 hours per week contract.

We are so proud of Terri and can offer similar support to people with learning difficulties or Autism who are looking for work, training or volunteering opportunities. Reach out to us now on 028 9043 6044 or admin@nowgroup.org.
