From Determination to a New Beginning: Skye’s Inspiring Journey

When NOW Group Employment Officer Rebecca first met Skye last year, Skye was working towards her goal of securing employment.

Throughout their time working together, Skye demonstrated determination and maintained a positive attitude, even when life brought unexpected changes.

During this time, Skye’s dad moved to Australia, and she was delighted to recently receive her visa to join him. With an exciting new opportunity ahead, Skye began applying for jobs in Australia and booked a one way flight for the beginning of July, determined to take a leap of faith.

Then, just five days before she was due to leave, Skye received the news she had been hoping for. She had secured a job in Australia. It was a fantastic achievement and the perfect start to an exciting new chapter.

Alongside preparing for her move, Skye also achieved her Level 3 English and Maths qualifications. She openly shares that it took her a little longer than expected to gain her qualifications and reach where she wanted to be, but she hopes her journey will encourage others to keep working towards their goals despite the challenges they may face.

Her experience is a reminder that everyone progresses at their own pace and that determination and perseverance can lead to new opportunities.

Rebecca described Skye as one of the kindest and most caring people she has had the pleasure of supporting, with compassion for others that shines through in everything she does. Her family are incredibly proud of all she has achieved, and Skye looks forward to sharing her new experiences with them as she begins life in Australia.
