NOW Group extends a warm welcome to permanent tsb as the latest banking brand to become JAM-Card friendly.
Effective immediately, JAM Card users will now be able to show their card or app in any permanent tsb branch across Ireland, with staff on hand to ensure that they provide the best service to customers.
The commitment is the latest in a series of initiatives that permanent tsb has undertaken in recent years to ensure its banking services are accessible for all customers. In 2020 permanent tsb launched a dedicated customer contact centre team specialised in supporting vulnerable customers.
Maeve Monaghan, CEO of NOW Group, said: “Access to financial services is such an important part of all our lives. Ensuring banking is accessible to all customers is vital. We are delighted that permanent tsb has trained their staff to understand how to best support and provide appropriate service to customers, including those with learning difficulties, hidden disabilities and communication barriers. Welcome to the JAM-Card Family permanent tsb!’
Patrick Farrell, Director of Retail Banking at permanent tsb, said: “Inclusivity is extremely important to our business and as such we want to ensure our services are accessible for everyone in society. The NOW Group is really leading from the front with the JAM Card initiative and the fantastic work they do to support people with learning difficulties and autism to realise their true potential. The JAM Card is simple but very effective, and we’re delighted to support the NOW Group on this initiative.”
The Just A Minute (JAM) Card is an initiative co-designed by the participants of NOW Group, a social enterprise that supports people with learning difficulties and autism into jobs with a future. It provides people with communication barriers a discreet, non-verbal way of asking for a minute of patience when they need it.
In 2021 there are more than 75,000 JAM Card users benefiting from the JAM Card. It is available for free at the Google Play/Apple App Store, and users can also request a free plastic card at https://jamcard.org/jam-card#jam-card-form.
