NOW Group were awarded the best Education, Training and Jobs Social Enterprise at the Social Enterprise NI awards on Friday at their annual gala awards night.
NOW Group offer a first class employment and training service that supports people every step of the way on their journey to employment. It offers accredited training to build up skills and confidence, as well as work place experience and voluntary placements. It also supports people already in work and works with employers to provide disability awareness training and advice around reasonable adjustments.
The programme continues to grow and increase its impact even in uncertain political and financial times. In the 2017/18 year the service supported 60 people to achieve paid work and so far in 2018/19 has achieved 51 paid jobs.
What makes NOW’s service unique is its approach to each participant’s journey. As well as providing support in training and employment the organisation also offers a range of social groups and opportunities for participants to make friends in a safe environment. The groups include skills groups where job seekers come together as a group to learn new skills, Fandom an award winning social forum for adults with autism and a cinema club, a walking group and a creative writing group.

NOW Group’s employment and training service is part funded by the European Social Fund 2014-2020, Department for the Economy and Department for Communities.
