The Bobbin is back with a new look and a new menu!

The Bobbin social enterprise cafe reopened its doors at Belfast City Hall on Monday 24th April with a new look and a new menu! It was sad to see the doors temporarily close at the café last Autumn as a loyal base had been built up of customers keen to spend their money in a cafe that makes a difference – but it was all worth it in the end! Wait until you see inside the new look Bobbin!

The reopening brings social enterprise back into the heart of Belfast city centre, providing 15 training and work experience places each week for people with a learning disability or autism. All of the café’s profits go to its parent organisation NOW Group, a social enterprise supporting people with learning difficulties and autism into jobs with a future. Please remember this when considering where to buy breakfast or lunch in the city centre!

The Loaf Catering and Cafes staff and trainees have been busy behind the scenes creating a brand new menu. The breakfast offering now includes more traditional options. What about trying the Irish wheaten bread with hot smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or a breakfast floured bap with sausage, smoked bacon & black pudding next time you call in?

There’s also the usual morning favourites: creamy porridge with honey; buttermilk pancakes with mixed fruit berries and maple syrup; toasted granola with natural yogurt and berries and not forgetting, fresh scones made by Loaf’s in-house bakery team served with jam and butter. For lunch, the customer favourites are back! Loaf’s famous sausage roll (voted best in Belfast) with homemade secret recipe relish; traditional Irish beef stew served with homemade wheaten bread; seasonal soup of the day served with a selection of fresh artisan breads and homemade Quiche of the Day with salads. There’s also have a range of sandwich varieties, salad bowls and a daily special on the menu.

If you’re looking for something sweet, why not try our brand new ‘Afternoon Tea For Two’? There is also an extensive range of pastries, buns and traybakes available as well as a tea and coffee menu.

And that is not all! Monday 15th May will see the official unveiling of a brand new exhibition area as well as a new café section for group bookings. All will be revealed soon!

The Bobbin will be operating under temporary opening hours at first:

Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm Saturday - 10am to 5pm Sunday - CLOSED

After the official opening on Monday 15th May, the opening hours will change to: Monday – Wednesday: 9am – 5pm Thursday: 9am – 7.30pm Friday: 9am – 5pm Saturday & Sunday: 10am-5pm
