Main Function: As a part of the Verve project team the Employment Officer will provide the highest quality support to our participants to enable them to secure the job they want and keep it.
The post holder will have a particular focus on securing jobs for people with learning difficulties and autism, while promoting learning and work experience to ensure they achieve their individual goals. The Employment Officer will engage effectively with parents, carers and employers in a professional manner to ensure the optimum opportunities and outcomes can be achieved by the participants.
Project Verve is funded through the European Social Fund.
1. A full current driving licence and access to a car. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.
2. Ability to be flexible and adaptable - hours are flexible and may involve evening and weekend work as required.
3. Minimum level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
4. Minimum of one year’s paid experience of working with either:
Ø Participants with learning disabilities/difficulties
Ø Experience assisting individuals into work
Ø Experience of liaising with employers
5. Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite.
6. Excellent social media, communication and presentation skills.
7. Clear understanding and articulation of the principles of supported employment.
1. Foundation Diploma in Supported Employment.
2. Proven track record of securing employment for people with barriers to learning.
3. Experience of building local networks.
4. Working experience of government programmes to support people to gain and sustain employment.

Loaf Catering is our catering business which delivers outside catering to businesses, functions etc. We run six cafes four are in Belfast - The Bobbin in City Hall, Loaf on Grosvenor Road and the cafes at Ulster Museum and the Folk at Transport Museum at Cultra.
We also have a cafe at the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh. Loaf Pottery our sixth site is our pottery, pizzeria and coffee shop in Crawfordsburn where we offer wood fired pizzas and our range of beautiful handthrown pottery.
